2010 New York Auto Show

Now that the American automotive industry is making a slow recovery from the disastrous year that was 2009, the auto show season is starting to pick up. The 2010 New York Auto Show should be a good indicator of just how well that recovery is progressing, and so far things are looking up.

Several world premieres have already been confirmed and the slew of cars shown at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show will also make their way west for North American premieres. Cars like the 2011 BMW X5, 2011 BMW 335is, Mercedes-Benz E-Class convertible and Nissan Juke are all expected to be shown for the first time on American soil.

Infiniti is also planning to introduce its all-new QX56 SUV. First shown in Nissan guise at a premiere in the Middle East, the new QX56 sports a dramatically revised design that should turn a few heads. Kia should get some attention, too, as it's planning to unveil the 2011 Optima sedan for the first time. Not to be outdone, sister company Hyundai will show off a turbocharged version of its new Sonata sedan.
