The federal government has granted a loan to California Lotus to develop a new prototype that will be presented next April and produced in Michigan (United States) under the control of local Lotus Engineering. The two million dollars paid to come corollary of the "International Council on Clean Transportation," commissioned by the Golden State to study the correlation between weight and consumption and to assess the benefits in the development of lighter cars. Lotus Engineering completed the first phase of the study showed that by 2010 cars will weigh 38% less than current models in the face of rising economic quantified in 3%.
